Davis led us all in an opening
prayer, after which we sang “Sing a New Song”.
Family Matters:
After
Social Time, we discussed the following at Family Matters:
- Madonna
House thanks us for volunteering at their New Year’s Open House
- Our
retreat will be held on May 18 – 20, 2012 at St. Francis Springs Prayer
Center. We will have profession for our 3 candidates from
Abingdon. The cost of the retreat is $200, and may
be paid at any
time. The retreat will be facilitated by Fr. Joe Nangle, OFM,
and will
explore Mary and Social Issues.
- February
is the month to invite prospective members to
our gathering. Marty White will give a talk on “Francis,
Beyond the
Birdbath”.
- Volunteers
were asked to put notices in area bulletins about our Franciscan order.

will again have Stations of the Cross during Fridays in Lent – please
see Vicki
to volunteer.
- ·The
sign-up sheet to volunteer for set-up, food, and clean-up was passed
around. Thanks to everyone who signed up.
- Vicki
showed the prototype for the pamphlet we are having printed about the
Companions. Copies will be available to share with interested
parties.
- Russ
went over last year’s budget – copies are available if you would like
one. Also, our new books, The Franciscan Journey, are
available. The cost
is $15.
- Lynne
Lonnquist’s mom is in the hospital – please keep her in your prayers.
- Florence
Quinn will have surgery this Wednesday. Please keep
her in your
prayers.
- Mary
Jane’s son has been hospitalized with an
irregular heartbeat – please remember him in your prayers.
